MARYLAND charming state
The small state of Maryland is known for its stunning landscapes, and is considered one of the most beautiful and prosperous states in the United States. There are vast plains, plateaus, beaches, swamps, canyons, basins, hills, pastures, fertile lands, rivers, waterfalls, sandy dunes and forests that spread across the Atlantic Coastal Plains, Piedmont Plateau and Appalachian Mountains.
From north to south, east to west, along scenic highways, small, charming and beautiful towns stand out revealing the best of Maryland to its visitors.
Divided into five regions, WEST Maryland is located in the central Appalachian region and is known for its mountainous terrain, rolling hills, steep cliffs, forested lands and beautiful landscapes. The region has a farming and livestock economy.
THE CAPITAL REGION is full of Culture, historical sites, beautiful landscapes, high-tech industries, and research centers in the fields of telecommunications, electronics, health and medicine. It is the most populated region in the state, and is home to the most populous suburbs of Washington D.C.
The CENTRAL REGION area is part of two geographic regions, the Atlantic Coastal Plain and the Piedmont Plateau. It is full of seaside villages and industrial cities that dot the gentle hills of the region on the Chesapeake Bay, where the state's beautiful and charming capital, Annapolis, and largest city, Baltimore, are located.
THE EAST COAST is located in the Atlantic Coastal Plain region, between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. There are wide and lush rural landscapes, with vast agricultural lands, poultry farming, livestock, many historical landmarks and hospitable towns spread across the stunning coastline.
SOUTH MARYLAND is a peninsula bordered by the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay. Predominantly rural the region features areas with dense population.
Creeks and rivers are abundant in the region, and provide numerous opportunities for recreational boating.

O pequeno Estado de Maryland é conhecido por suas paisagens deslumbrantes, e é considerado um dos mais belo e próspero Estado dos Estados Unidos. São vastas planícies, planaltos, praias, pântanos, desfiladeiros, bacias, colinas, pastagens, terras férteis, rios, cataratas, dunas arenosas e florestas que se espalham pelas Planícies Costeiras Atlântica, Planalto Piedmonte e Montes Apalaches.

A REGIÃO DA CAPITAL é plena em Cultura, locais históricos, belíssimas paisagens, industrias de alta tecnologia, centros de pesquisas nos campos de telecomunicações, eletrônica, informática, saúde e medicina. É a região mais povoada do Estado, e abriga os subúrbios mais populosos de Washington D.C.
A área da REGIÃO CENTRAL faz parte de duas regiões geográficas, a Planície Costeira Atlântica e o Planalto Piemonte. É repleta de vilas a beira-mar e cidades industriais que pincelam pelas colinas suaves da região na Baía de Chesapeake, onde está localizada a bonita e charmosa capital do Estado, Annapolis, e a maior cidade, Baltimore.
A COSTA LESTE está localizada na região da Planície Costeira Atlântica, entre a Baía de Chesapeake e o Oceano Atlântico. São amplas e exuberantes paisagens rurais, com vastas terras agrícolas, criação de aves, gados, muitos marcos históricos e cidades hospitaleiras espalhadas pelo deslumbrante litoral.
O SUL DE MARYLAND é uma península limitada pelo Rio Potomac e pela Baía de Chesapeake. Predominantemente rural apresenta áreas com densa população.
Riachos e rios são abundantes na região, e proporcionam inúmeras oportunidades para passeios de barco recreativos.
